How do I get a South Carolina Real Estate License?

Step 1
Graduate from high school or hold a certificate of equivalency & you must be at least 18 years old.
Step 2
Register for the Unit I: Hour Fundamentals of Real Estate Course (60-hours).
Step 3
Pass the Course Exit Exam given on the last day of the Unit I course.
Step 4
Mail in your Certificate of Completion, from the Unit I course, along with an application to the SC Real Estate Commission.
Step 5
The SC Real Estate Commission will email you instructions on how to obtain the fingerprint criminal and Social Security Number background checks
after your application is received.
Step 6
Once you receive approval from the SC Real Estate Commission follow their instructions to schedule your testing date & time with the PSI Testing Center.
(There are PSI Testing Center locations throughout SC. Locally the test is given at the local PSI Testing Center in North Charleston 6 days a week.)
Step 7
Complete the Unit II course. Before you apply for a license you will also
need to complete the additional Unit II: Advanced Real Estate Principles course (30-hours).
Step 8
Choose your Real Estate Broker (realty company). We provide our students with recruitment information from realty companies seeking new agents.
Step 9
Have your Broker submit your licensure application with Passing Score sheets from PSI and proof of completion of the Unit II course to obtain your SC Real Estate License!
Our schedule is set up so that you may take the Unit I & Unit II back-to-back.
Interested in the Day Class?
This class meets Monday through Friday from 9:00am - 1:00pm for 3 weeks for Unit I.
Interested in the Evening Class?
This class meets Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 5:45pm - 9:45pm for 5 weeks for Unit I.
Unit II course is a 30 hour course. Day classes meet Monday through Thursday from 9:00am - 1:00pm for two weeks and Unit II evening classes meet Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 5:45pm - 9:45pm for three weeks.
